Hello if your reading this then you are

a) trying to figure out if I'm the Rob Sealock you think I am

b) trying to figure out why this guy thinks anyone cares about the various items he posts on.

The main reason for this web page is for ME (as in myself).  Over the years I have found, been told about or flat out stolen some great information regarding (primarily) Microsoft related technologies.  Most of which I have either lost or forgot, which has proved to be quit a pain in the arse over the years.  I use this site to post information I would like to reference again myself and perhaps with luck it will help someone else, thus paying back those whom have offered thier knowledge up which I have used.

Much of the older posts on this site are from my technet blog: http://blogs.technet.com/robse/default.aspx  which I have copied over for longevity purposes.

A brief history of Me.

I was born at a very early age in Lomond Alberta.  Raised on a small farm until I was old enough to leave.  Attended University of Lethbridge in the early 90s.   I obtained a degree (B.Sc. Chemistry) which I have yet to use to this day in the real world.  Realizing my degree was useless, I did what many at the time did, open the career section in the paper and seen this “computer” thing was in demand.  In my career I have worked helpdesk, desktop support, managed said support, Administered Novel 4.x - 5.x & Windows 3.5 -> 2003 networks, did a short stint as a SQL DBA and Novel Telco Admin, then went on to consult in the Calgary Oil and Gas segment in any technology they told me to and I got certification for.

In 2005 I joined Microsoft as a Rapid Reponses Engineer (now call Premier Field Engineer) in the messaging (Exchange and LCS) technologies.  Over 2 1/2 years I worked across the United States and Canada, Japan and Germany.  After close to 300K air miles I decided to take a job closer to home.  My closer to home job was becoming a Technical Account Manager for Microsoft, primarily in the Oil and Gas segment in Calgary.

I am married with two very young twins (boy/girl).  I enjoy downhill and dirt biking (or will again once I get a pin put in my shoulder).

If your around an what to shuttle some trails drop me a note rob(AT)sealock.net
